So I just sort of assumed that during each scenario, everyone could spend PP on whatever they wanted at the start (assuming you start in Absalom from the getgo).
What had never ever occurred to me up till now is that the GM himself, since he is not part of the scenario, cannot actually spend PP (which kind of sucks, since if I started a character at Level 3 with GM credit, he can't just start spending all his PP to catch up in terms of PP spent).
What should I do about that, having spent partial charges on wands purchased with PP? The way I did it was to buy a number of scrolls equal to the charges spent, and then deduct those from my character's wealth. Does that seem just?

So what makes you think you can't spend PP on Chronicles you got GM credit with?
If that was the case I have been doing it wrong for years.
I don't see anything stopping you from spending PP on Vanities or Free purchases of 150 and 750.

No no, I mean, spending Prestige Points on 150 and 750 items when you are the GM. Since your character is never in the scenario to begin with, it doesn't seem like he or she can ever go to a settlement to spend the points to get faction stuff.

Right, but he is out adventuring "off camera," one presumes, to get that stuff. So he'd have the same opportunities as someone adventuring on camera.
Or, if you prefer, he's cooling his heels in Absalom, in which case he can still get to stuff. The only way he can't get to, say, a wand of CLW is if he's off in the middle of the woods. ... and can't find a magical hermit who crafts, come to think of it.

Zean, though I could be wrong, I think that is an unnecessary penalty to put on the GM.
I am not stating this from any point of authority, but I don't think it is meant for the GMs not to be able to spend the PP.

Oh, okay. Well that's good. I want to be able to spend my PP. If I can't, it actually severely discourages me from wanting to GM so much now. But if I'm wrong... I'll happily keep my library of wands :)

I was under the impression that the "once per scenario" bit was handwaved so long as the character in question wasn't trying to get many things all at once.
I suppose taken literally the GM can't spend any prestige until he actually plays his character. Is that the way the rule is meant to be interpreted?
