Adoptive Parentage:
Adoptive Parentage:
Humans are sometimes orphaned and adopted by other races. Choose one humanoid race without the human subtype. You start play with that race's languages and gain that race's weapon familiarity racial trait (if any). If the race does not have weapon familiarity, you gain either Skill Focus or Weapon Focus as a bonus feat that is appropriate for that race instead. This racial trait replaces the bonus feat trait.

I am curious as to how some race choices would interact with this alternate racial trait, also, whether you can choose Skill Focus or Weapon Focus, or if the race choice decides for you.
Some examples:

1) Bugbear.

2) Catfolk.

3) Changeling.

4) Derro.

5) Dhampir.

6) Duergar.

7) Ettin.

8) Ogre.

9) Troll.

10) Gillman.

11) Gnoll.

12) Hobgoblin.

13) Lizardfolk.

14) Locathah.

15) Merfolk.

16) Strix.

17) Tengu.

18) Vanara.

19) Vishkanya.

20) Stone Giant.

Perhaps the post is a bit too long for anyone to want to respond?

Trying one last bump.

I have no idea, sorry

I think at that point it's between you and the DM. Though if a race has racial skill bonuses I'd assume any Skill Focus would have to be one of those skills. I'd also favour giving Skill Focus instead of Weapon Focus if there's no obvious weapon choice (such as Trident for merfolk).

Thanks cartmanbeck.

I suppose some are harder than others to figure out.

Okay, maybe I am wrong, but there are some weapons referred to as some what unique to a race. Would they qualify for this racial trait?

Ogre: Ogre Hook.

Derro: Aklys, Crystal Chakram, Fauchard, Injection Spear.

Goblin: Horsechopper, Dogslicer.

Kobold: Kobold tail attachment.

Ratfolk: Ratfolk tailblade.

Gillman; Sea-knife.
