There’s never enough adventures, right?

Welcome to the second issue of Adventure Quarterly! Adventure Quarterly is dedicated to regularly bringing you fun adventures for your Pathfinder game from new and established voices in the RPG industry. It is our hope that like us, you feel that there’s just never enough adventure out there!

Within this issue you shall find a means for randomized room flavor within a dungeon, a means of testing the metal of nascent adventurers, what happens when ancient burial rights go awry, an anvil upon which characters break or prove themselves, and some insight into the morale of an encounter. From the talented minds of T.H. Gulliver, Jonathan McAnulty, Steven D. Russell, and Justin Sluder are adventures covering the low-, mid-, and high- level ranges of play. Creighton Broadhurst of Raging Swan Press offers up a creative way to add flavor to any room. Robert N. Emerson shares with us his rules for managing the motivations and spirit of NPCs during a fight.

Adventures are aimed at 1st, 9th, and 18th level characters, with detailed maps, encounters, and NPCs!

Who could wish for anything more?

I plan on getting this and Adventure Quarterly 1 on September 24, my next payday.

Hope you enjoy it. We have some of the top people working on this so far,I hope to continue that.

Here is a sneak peak at my adventure in #2

The Dungeon of No Return
by Steven D. Russell

Returning to the world via reincarnation "Their Queen of Fall", a mad fey deity, has locked the world in autumn, and someone most go find the only person who has ever defeated her, Saint Samren. Unfortunately, the fey pantheon had St. Samren imprisoned in a pocket paradise found within The Quietus Starlight jewel. Further complicating matters, St. Samren does not wish to leave paradise, and his followers have gone to great lengths to make sure no one reaches the jewel; many have gone searching for it, none has ever returned.

“The Dungeon of No Return” is an 18th level adventure for 4 characters, and it is not yet another challenge PCs can easily overcome. It is for those PCs who believe other modules are too easy; it is for players that wants the self-imposed challenge of “beating” an adventure with a high probability of failure. The adventure ultimately seeks to challenge not only the abilities of high level PCs but the skill of their players as well.

Those both look cool. My gaming group and I prefer modules to an adventure path so this may be what we have been looking for.

AQ #1 was pretty awesome so I should be ordering a print copy of this as soon as it is available.

Scarab Sages

I'm pretty stoked to see what people think of "Ruin's Perilous, level 1." Some Rite fans may remember an attempt to do this dungeon one room at a time a while back, but that didn't work out so well. So with AQ we had the chance to return to this classic-style dungeon and this issue has the whole first level of what is planned to be a 20 level mega-dungeon full of non-standard monsters, whimsy and brutal death-traps.

It will be available simultaneously with the PDF at DrivethurRpg as POD, this is my goal for every release of Adventure Quarterly.

Another Preview for Adventure Quarterly #2

Into the Land of Tombs
by T. H. Gulliver

The nobles and wealthy merchants of the Many-Storied Empire bury their dead in the Land of Tombs. By ancient truce, the Kabeeri people make sure the dead stay there. When a group of cultists ambushed a funeral procession, they violated this truce. The cultists killed the pallbearers, but the procession goes marching on.

Into the Land of Tombs is a journey adventure suitable for 4 player characters of 9th level and will likely provide enough experience for the characters to reach 10th level.

Wow! I'm liking that cover image a lot. And AQ1 looked amazing too. Well done Steve and props to the artists!

A few questions: What is the page count? Pages per adventure?
When is the release date?
Will the pdf be available for download here or on another store's site?

the PDF only is availabe at the Paizo Store

Thanks for answering. The date was confusing due to the 09/21/09 in the subject header, which could mean year 2009. Anyway, the product looks interesting.
