A Question About Focused Trance

Rules Questions

Lantern Lodge

The oracle of Lore has this as one of the possible mysteries they can take:

Focused Trance (Ex): You can enter a deep meditation, blocking out visual and auditory stimuli and allowing you to concentrate on a single problem, philosophical issue, or memory. This trance lasts 1d6 rounds, during which time you can only take move actions. During this period, you gain a bonus equal to your level on all saves against sonic effects and gaze attacks. When you come out of your trance, you may make a single Intelligence-based skill check with a +20 circumstance bonus. You may enter your focused trance a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier.

This is something of a silly question and I do not believe anyone would use it if it was legal. Could an oracle of lore go into a focused trance when they make their official day job roll? It does say that you can use it to make an intelligence based skill check.

My apologies if this has already been answered and I can't find that bit of information.

This is not a PFS specific question. Moved to Rules forum.

Erm, it's about Day Jobs (and the legality of using Lore Master) and the mechanics for PFS. Silly Brock.

As for the question, my guess is "no," as it isn't a 24-hour bonus. One Check =/= a permanant bonus. My 2cp on the concept.

No, this is not something you can use with your Day Job check. You can only use permanent bonuses when making the check.
