Did I miss a similar class or are they not covered?
If I did miss them, where are they?
If they aren't covered, why not and how would you go about creating them?
Try here, if I get what you're asking, this should be it: Low Templar.
I'm not sure whether you mean the Gnostic-style or Dark Sun-style.

That is one kind, but I was thinking of ones more in line with the idealistic beliefs of the Templar Knights from the 11th century. Forefathers of investment banking, Templar codes, fighting with 2 handed swords and 2 knights per mount, giving up their possessions to join the order, etc.
This would be more in order of what I had in mind.

Easiest solution would be a paladin. Or a fighter. Or a sword-and-board or 2H weapon ranger...
I think a lot of the "Templar" aspect would come out in roleplaying. Unless you want specific options just for a holy warrior and that sort of thing (*coughpaladincough*), I'd say it's mostly proclaiming IC "I'm part of an order called the Knights Templar, and we have a special code and give up much of our lives and possessions to fight the good fight against our enemies," etc., etc., etc.
As lame of an answer as it is, the more I think of it the more I think the paladin is exactly what the Templars of the 11th century would be if you wanted them in Pathfinder.

Okay, you're talking about the Gnostics then. All of the above suggestions are very viable.

I always felt the APG Inquisitor is misnamed. It should have been named templar and is as such in my homebrew.
For my own homebrew I took the Complete Adventurer's spellthief and re-flavored it as divine and called that an inquisitor. With a few rogue-like talents, it seems to work fine.
I second the super genius games recommendation above and offer the APG as an alternate suggestion.
