Caller of the First World

Shadow Lodge

So I have had this idea brewing inside since I first read about gnomes in pathfinder being from the First World and finally decided to give it a try for PFS:

A Gnome who is fresh from the first world (using the Fey Foundling feat) and want to show the denizens of the material plane how much more awesome and colorful (read: terrifying and deadly) the First World is compared to the theirs.
I went through the intro series with a First Worlder Summoner and didn't like it. I have never enjoyed playing summoners and this was no exception. I like to be the person doing cool things, not a conduit to other creatures doing cool things. So I am I going to change his before he gets locked into what he is at 2nd level.

Does anyone have any ideas? I love to skin characters so the specifics of a class don't have to be exact but the abilities should relate easily.

The most obvious thought is a sorcerer with the fey bloodline.

That's a zero-thought idea, though; it's just that obvious. Many other bloodlines would work out well. If you reskin the laughing touch to be functionally identical, but more of a fascination with a brief vision of the First World... that already helps.

Bard also fits as an obvious choice.

If you're not looking to be a real spellcaster, you could make heavy use of the gnome racial spell-like abilities, and supplement the rest with attitude (maybe work in some perform ranks to tell about it).

Shadow Lodge

I would prefer to be a spell caster but a particularly flavorful non caster could be interesting.

I thought about Fey (yeah its obvious) but really didn't want him to be an enchanter. They aren't much for the visual. I wish I could be a primal mage of some kind but they are banned/nerfed in PFS.

I am also concidering the Starsoul sorcerer for the colorful effects and the Heavens Oracle for the powerful illusions.
It would be neat if he could summon literal first world matter (a kind of conjurer perhaps) but I don't know if/how it would work

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Druid would work, or you could have fun with a nature Oracle. You could reskin the oracle as simply an alternate way of doing Fey magic, and both classes are really fun to play.

Shadow Lodge

I am not really looking for a nature guy (a little counter I know).
I am trying to build a guy to shows off the unmutable color and constant chaos of the first world. He isn't interested in this worlds nature and believes change is very important. He harnesses the very energy of the first world to change this one.

Scarsoul oracle? The primal/wild magic oracle mystery from innerseas magic.

Liberty's Edge

Fey speak Sylvan. You could play a Sylvan sorcerer (using the wildblooded archetype and fey-bloodlines. This gives you a weaker animal companion (take Boon Companion if you'd like him to be regular strength), and the usual sorcerer goodies. Druid or Nature oracle would also net you the animal companion.

If having a companion or summon along was the problem, I have other suggestions. As others have pointed out, it's mostly in how you interpret the abilities. A bard could sing unheard-of First World songs, a monk could have trained to be as deadly as the creatures of the First World, and even a barbarian could take various totem powers to represent his strange connection to the First World.

You could play a cleric of one of the First World "gods", the Eldest, bent on exploring and converting the mundane world to the exciting one that exists in their realm. The right god and domain choice could give you the flash and power you're talking about.

My suggestion is actually a Heavens Oracle. Awesome Display fits perfectly with what you want. Remember that Heavens isn't just stars - it's rainbows, sunlight, and lightning according to the bonus spell list. Gnome Magic fits pretty well into the Awesome Display strategy, too.

Liberty's Edge

Heavens Oracle is super great, because you can just color spray everything. EVERYTHING.

Sorcerer (of whatever stripe) with a focus on summoning and illusion? If you want to show the glory of the First World, that would let you go ahead and show it, literally.

Shadow Lodge

Ok, I am pretty sold on the Heavens oracle. The Abilities, especially the illusion one, are easy to flavor. anyone know if there is a way to get additional illusions added to there spell list though? as it is there is just the ones on the list. Also any recommendations on a curse? The only oracle I've built was a battle oracle...

The only easy way I can think of to add more illusions onto your list without changing race (and thus the concept) is by using Improved Eldritch Heritage: Arcane to pick up the New Arcana bloodline power and thus add a couple of sorcerer/wizard spells to your list. I don't know if PFS allows this interpretation, though.

edit: The Haunted curse also adds Minor Image to your list, along with some other good spells. However, its negative effects can be anywhere from tolerable to catastrophic depending on GM interpretation, and again I don't know how PFS rules it.

Shadow Lodge

I am terrorfied of Haunted, I have seen so many people with it get abused. I just found a cool curse called Blacked from the blood of angels book. It gives access to Burning Hands, Fireball, scorching ray and wall of fire in exchange for a minus 4 to weapon attack rolls, -2 at level 8. It is a harsh penalty but I think I could live with it...
Ok, here is what I am leaning towards right now...

Gnome Oracle of the First World (heavens)
Blackened Curse (charring that happened when he left the First world)

Feats:
1. Fey Foundling
3. Skill Focus: Knowledge Arcane
5. Elderitch Heritage: Arcane (familiar)
7. Extra Revelation
9. Improved Familiar
11. Improved Eldritch Heritage: Arcane (Extra Spell)

I am thinking I will split my attention between Illusion (showing off the color and wonder of the first world) and evocation(the wonderful change of state the first world can bring) with a few extra buff and heal spells added in.
What do you think? also any ideas for good traits for oracles?
