Party Composition (Kingmaker)

Advice

I'm going to be GMing a Kingmaker campaign in a couple of weeks. I just need to know if there are any specific classes or character types that are required or especially helpful to have during this AP. If my players don't decide to use something important I may have to build a DMNPC.

It's a very outdoorsy adventure. Druids, Rangers, Inquisitors all seem to do well. Ranged ability is handy, as are social skills.

Full spellcasters are stupidly good in this campaign. So are nature themed classes like barbarians and rangers, or clerics of Erastil/Gozereh. Druids kick rear. With the full spellcaster route, plan on having free time, especially in the second part for item crafting

As Mr. Sillybiscuits said. He was spot on.

Things to be aware of though. There is lots and lots of downtime built into this path. Item creators can have a field day.

Leadership ( always a controversial choice ) becomes really advantagious. In my current campaign, most of the kingdom is staffed by cohorts.

Most of the recomendations from the player's guide seems really spot on. Knowledge nature is a MUST. At least two PC's should have it, imo. Also, Perception...everyone should max this.

I would emphasize the ranged folk as well. Sneaky seemed useful for our early levels. But, player tactics probably can over rule that.

Also charge-based builds are ridiculously powerful due to the rarity of indoor combat.
