Self-explanatory question.
I'm a level 5 Mobile Fighter, and my armory (that is, the weapons I carry on my person) consists of a MW Greatsword [Primary Weapon], 6 MW Javelins (which I just found off this last fight against a total of 12+ Chupacabras), 2 MW Daggers, a MW Heavy Mace, and a MW Lucerne Hammer. (Yes, I know it's quite extensive.)
The thing is, I am a character/player that wants similar set-ups for situations, but also different elements within said set-ups. The concept I'm tackling is the "Attacking while Grappled" ordeal.
So let's say I'm facing some Dragon with Piercing and Bludgeoning DR, my party and I beat it down to about 1/4's of its health and it managed to land a grapple on me. While grappled, I am only restricted to one hand for attacking, and I can't exactly assault the target with my Greatsword. Since Daggers deal weak damage, I want a weapon that has more use, but at the same time can be used in a mess such as this. The Dragon then proceeds to swallow my character whole, which it succeeds.
I believe there is a rule saying you can only use Natural Attacks, Unarmed Strikes, and Light weapons while grappled or swallowed whole (and that comes with a penalty), whereas even being grappled, you cannot use 2 handed weapons, and perhaps not even 1 handed weapons.
I was looking at some weapons and noticed the Gladius and the Jutte were very opportune and fit the concept/flavor of my character, but I would like some clarification before I decide if I really need to change up my weapons.
What weapons can you use when you are Grappled and/or Swallowed Whole? Would a Gladius be able to be used in either situation just as a Dagger can (since it is a Light weapon), or would I have to look elsewhere/keep using the Daggers?

When grappled, you are restricted to one-handed weapons. When Swallowed whole, you are restricted to Light weapons. Since the Gladius is light, it works in both situations.
Sweet, just exactly the answer I was looking for.
It looks like I have some weapons to change out/upgrade. Goodbye Cliche Daggers and Heavy Mace.
Hello Gladius and Battle Aspergillum, weapons that can be used to attack in just about any situation (that functions as more-or-less a two way street), aren't typical chosen weapons, fit both the flavor and the functioning of secondary weapons they are replacing, and add variety to the typical "Pull out a dagger!"
