The Wreck of the Jenivere....in cardstock

Serpent's Skull

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I just finished prepping to run Souls for Smugglers Shiv for a group of new players, and made a cardstock build of the wreck of the Jenivere for the PC's to run around on. You can find images of the build here.

Yar!

Very nice! I approve!

I've been doing something very similar to this myself, and it's been a great success. I've been using foam and building complete scenes though (so I really know about the storage issues), but the good thing about the Card Stock is it is easy to use for other things as well. Some of my terrain can be reused for other things, but some of them are so specific to Serpents Skull that they are pretty much set as "this game only".

One thing I will warn you about, which may not be an issue for you (but it was for me) is sight lines and ease of movement with vertical accuracy. I now cheat all my vertical heights, not only to save on materials, money, and storage space, but also because having accurate vertical height makes moving minis around that much more difficult.

...of course, I play on a 5'x9' billiards table turned gaming table, and have a fairly large group, so perhaps on a smaller table with not so many people, moving around to see everything and such will be easier. But still, your hands are so big compared to your minis and scaled terrain, and when tall walls make it difficult to reach in and move your mini, it can become an issue.

I'll also note that one of my players uses these card-stock templates and makes his own stuff as well, which we use in conjunction with what I've been making. You can see some of my stuff here.

But all in all your stuff looks great so far! I can't wait to see more! :D

All I can say is Wow and I wish I were that talented. And had the time to do such things.
