New player's questions.

Hi,

I've not played much PFS, but I have played a reasonable amount of Pathfinder. I've got some questions on interpretations of some rules.

1) Does a Tengu's Swordtrained ability include sawtoothed sabres and the like?

2) Whilst I know the Variant Tiefling Heritages are not alowed in organised play, are the racial traits (Blood Stalker etc.) for them allowed? The additional resources document seems to imply that they are, but I wasn't certain.

3) What are the basic assumptions made about Society members characters? Beyond non-evil. IE do they have to be literate?

4) Do society clerics have to follow a god, or can they follow a concept? If so who approves Domain selections?

1) Yes. Though I'm not sure if that would cover using it as a light weapon (as per having Exotic Weapon prof).

2) Only the Daemon Bloodline is not legal as well as the heritages. The rest should be safe (Fiendish Vessel though is banned).

3) No evil, no pvp and don't be a jerk. Or to put it another way "explore, report, cooperate".

4) Clerics have to have a deity.

It's a sword, so yes. And you would have EWP in it, too - just like the bastard sword and elven curve blade.

When you say "variant tiefling heritages", are you referring to "variant tiefling abilities" or "heritages"? The former is not legal, but the latter (from Blood of Fiends) actually is legal.

Anyway, the Additional Resources page tends to give page numbers, so just see what page the option you want is on, and see what the list says.

PCs are literate by default in Pathfinder, whether PFS or not. Also, in order to become a Pathfinder, your character had to go through about three years of training and then get approved by the Masters of Blades, Spells and Scrolls. A lot of people aren't aware of that, though.

Must choose a deity. Fortunately, there are a lot to choose from if you pick up the Inner Sea World Guide.
