First post on this board. I'm playing at Pathfinder since last year (we play about 1/month), in an homebrew “kingmaker-style” campaign setting. Our campaign started about 10 years ago, we periodically changed game system and sometimes the GM, but we keep the same characters and setting to continue our adventures.
I'm looking for a backup character (we are at level 8, in a very deadly adventure), and I was thinking about an Halfling Barbarian 6 (Titan Mauler)/Horizon Walker 2 (desert Terrain Mastery)
We roll for the stats (4d6, drop the lowest) so I can't totally complete the build.
We can only use official pathfinder books (Core, APG, UM, UC, ARG). Also, because of the setting reasons, we can get only one (powerful) magic item or weapon, but no other magic equipment.
Alternate Racial Traits: Low Blow and Warslinger
Weapons: a medium-sized +2 Keen Mithral Scimitar (as a 2-handed weapon, with no penalty), and an Halfling Sling Staff for ranged (and backup melee weapon).
Feats: 1st Power Attack, 3rd Endurance (for H.W.), 5th Improved Low Blow , 7th Raging Vitality
Rage Powers: Surprise Accuracy (+4 with the favored class bonus), Roused Anger and Guarded Life.
Here are my ideas, can you give me any advice?
Second question. How does Massive Weapon works with Halfling Sling Staff?
Can I use a medium-sized sling with 2-handed?
PS: I apologize for any typos and grammar errors. My first language is not English.

Massive Weapon does not work as advertised. You may not use a medium 2handed weapon since a medium 2handed weapon is 'larger than 2handed' for someone who is small sized. You may use a medium 1handed weapon 2handed (as you are with the scimitar).
Sidenote: You may not use a medium 1handed weapon (that is 2handed for you) 1handed using Jotungrip because Jotungrip requires that weapons be appropriately sized for you.

Like Gauss said, there is a problem with the wording of the Titan Mauler's Massive Weapons class feature; due to the language that was included in the text and the language that was left out, Titan Mauler reduces your penalties for wielding larger weapons but does not give you the ability to wield them. You would need to receive that capability elsewhere in order to make use of Massive Weapons.
This was an oversight. The contributor who created that class did not intend to word it in a way that did that, they'd intended for you to be able to wield those massive weapons. However, their 2 cents on the class feature, and their desire to have worded it differently, is their personal opinion. It isn't an official ruling.
The official answer on Titan Mauler is that you do not receive the ability to wield the big weapons, and no errata to date has changed that.
So, it's between you and your DM how the class is treated at your table. It doesn't do much officially as it's written, though.

Most people seem to see the staff sling as a twohanded weapon. But from the description that is not true.
You can fire, but not load, a halfling sling staff with one hand.... A halfling sling staff can be used as a simple weapon that deals bludgeoning damage equal to that of a club of its size
So you can fire it onehanded and you can melee with it as if it was a club, which is onehanded.
That being the case I think you should be able to use an oversized staff sling twohanded. How reloading works in that case is something I can't answer.

Thanks for your answers.
I know by RAW (what my GM considers and allow) a small character can use a medium-sized onehanded weapon as a twohanded weapon, that's why i choose the Scimitar (and, of course, also for the critical threat).
I asked about the sling staff becouse it's listed under (exotic) ranged weapon, and I don't know how the weapon size rules work with them.
Paradoxically it seems that you can fire and use as a club, as twohanded, an oversized staff sling, but can't reload...
I'll pick a small sized one.
By the way, how do you see mine pre-build? Any suggestion?
