Favorite class for new races

I just got the new Advanced Race Guide and I like it a lot and plain to use it. One of the things I liked a lot was they explained the favorite class bonuses to all the class for the core races. The one thing I wish they had was a section at the end to give advise on giving these same bonuses to new races you make. I know I can probably steal some of the ones from the other races but does anyone know of any guidelines that should go with this?

All races can select either +1 HP or +1 skill point as a favored class bonus.

Yea I know all classes the these 2 but I realy like the players getting the 3 choices but not sure how I could add the 3rd choice for new races I am making.
