I was told the other day that you lose your dex (basically are considered flatfoot) when you stand up from prone.
The PRD states it is move action and provokes....
Stand Up
Standing up from a prone position requires a move action and provokes attacks of opportunity.
but I see nothing about losing your dex...is there a different rule that I am missing? Just wondering...

Prone: The character is lying on the ground. A prone attacker has a –4 penalty on melee attack rolls and cannot use a ranged weapon (except for a crossbow). A prone defender gains a +4 bonus to Armor Class against ranged attacks, but takes a –4 penalty to AC against melee attacks.
Standing up is a move-equivalent action that provokes an attack of opportunity.

I don't see it either.

Sounds like someones house rule that they thought was in the books. I am not aware of anything about being prone that would cause one to be unable to move out of the way of an oncoming blow. So no; you do not lose your Dex.
If you need confirmation to disprove the person that told you this, just point him to the entry in the Pathfinder SRD. This one. And also point out that those conditions which do leave one minus Dex like Helpless say that specifically. If they felt the need to say that about a condition called "Helpless," you can bet they would have said it about Prone if that was the intent.

Hey great thanks for the responses...it was more for my knowledge. As opposed to arguing the rules...house rules are good but I GM some society stuff and wanted to make sure I was not messing up the core rules :)
