Yellow Musk Creeper and the Impossible Path

Rules Questions

This question is particularly about the yellow Musk creeper, but I suppose it applies to all scenarios like it as well.

So the YMC has a pollen attack, and when effected, a unit must move at its speed towards the creeper and then stop so as to get infected. The question is, what happens if walking one's speed toward the creeper isn't possible? Say, 4 scenarios:

1. The creeper is in the air so that the unit cannot actually make it.
2. The unit and the creeper are separated by a cliff so that walking to it would mean falling to one's death.
3. A wall is blocking the path.
4. A friendly unit is blocking the path.

Would the unit, being under this entrancement, attempt anyway and suffer consequences, stop attempting at the barrier, or would it actively attempt to find a way around said barrier?

Thanks in advance!

Just my interpretations, mind you:

1. The creeper is in the air so that the unit cannot actually make it.

The unit would walk as close as it can, generally stopping directly underneath the creeper.

2. The unit and the creeper are separated by a cliff so that walking to it would mean falling to one's death.

The unit walks off the cliff.

3. A wall is blocking the path.

The unit scales the wall or otherwise finds a way around, over, under, or through it.

4. A friendly unit is blocking the path.

Allies don't block movement. However, if they tried, the unit would just go around them. If the allies take measures to prevent the movement, then it would come down to either grappling or overunning, depending on the circumstances.

"Unit" is such a weird term for a character or creature. :P

1. The unit gets as close to it as possible. If nothing threatening is nearby, then it just follows the creeper around.

2. The unit would have to make a will save against the entrancement's DC again, or walk off the cliff, most likely falling to the unit's own demise.

3. If a wall is blocking the path, the unit attempts to go around the wall the most direct way possible, but if visual sight or smell or whatever is required for the entrancement to maintain its effects, the entrancement wouldn't even affect the creature once it loses the sense needed to be entranced.

4. A unit should be able to move through friendly squares (which is usually other units), so unless the creeper is only 5' away from the obstruction, this isn't an issue. Unless there is a clause suggesting that you cannot move through friendly squares, then disregard this, and I have no clue, other than the same as above.

**Edit** If the friendlies find it necessary, the unit moving toward the creeper does provoke attacks of opportunity, meaning they can knock the unit out before it reaches the Creeper. Just a little tip for the PCs.
