Looking for Specific Society Scenarios

Pathfinder Society

First off I know nothing of the Pathfinder Society.
How long does a scenario take?

I'm looking for a Pathfinder Society Scenario (or Scenarios) that will fill 5-6 hours of playing to introduce 2 new players to how skills, combat and ROLE playing.

Can someone here point me in the direction of some Scenario(s) that will fill that many hours and have a good mix of ROLE AND ROLL playing?

Thanks...............

All the scenarios are written and designed to run in roughly 4-5 hours.

For beginner players, The first steps series is a good intro to the society and to society play

Liche;

Is the entire group going to be just 2 people, or are there others -- of which only 2 are new?

If you've got 6 players, the " Pathfinder Society Scenario Intro 1: First Steps—Part I: In Service to Lore (PFRPG)" scenario worked fine for me just last night (I had 4 new players...)

I walked them through stuff pretty carefully, and the experienced folks helped a lot in helping them understand the roleplaying aspects.

If just 2 total: I defer to others...

No 6 players of which 2 are new.
If the scenarios are 4-5 hours then I'm looking for one that has and equal amount of skill checks/ROLEplaying and combat.

Ant help on which one has these elements I'm looking for would be great.

Intro 1: In Service to Lore is a good mix of RP and combat, and serves as a good intro to the Pathfinder Society campaign. Plus, it's free.

Gods market Gamble is one that is kind of equalish..

but my personal opinion is that it's not good to expect brand new players to do a lot of roleplay out of the gate, they are trying to learn the system and figure out what their character is doing and being new and then being put on the spot for having to talk and try and think of what to say can be frustrating on a new player.

Too true.

For a fun romp of a module, you could try the 2012 Free RPG Day module, We Be Goblins!

The PDF is free, the players get to run insane, xenophobic, crazy, chaotic, evil goblins and kill things. There is, also, plenty of RP opportunities, from the goblin party/feast at the beginning, through some of the encounters along the way.

Did I mention that the players get to RP crazy, evil, insane, pyromaniac, evil goblins?

Pathfinder Society scenarios are intended to take between 3 1/2 hours and 5 hours, depending on the scenario. They are designed to suit a party of four to six characters, so if you only have two players, you'll want to add some NPC support. (Official games reguire at least three actual players to amke a table.)

In Pathfinder Society play, characters typically belong to one of several factions, power groups or secret societies that act as patrons for the Pathfinder agents. The side-missions assigned by these groups can be a fun aspect of Society play. An example:

In Murder on the Silken Caravan...

Spoiler:
While the party's main mission is to deliver the remains of a revered Pathfinder venture-captain to his home city for burial, the Andoran faction orders its agents to post seditious handbills in the trade village where the adventure begins. Those getting caught can expect to be flogged (or worse!).

I recommend Murder on the Silken Caravan as a highly-challenging scenario with a strong balance of roleplay and combat, and interesting NPCs.

Murder on the Throaty Mermaid is also a *very* fun scenario to get folks interested in society play. And if you want your group to get used to RP and the system of Pathfinder, I'd start with First Steps Part II. Good RP all through it, lots of combat, and something I'll spoiler.

First Steps Part 1:

First Steps 1 has a *really* nasty ambush in an alley at the end of the scenario that can easily kill off even veteran players. Its pretty brutal, and I rarely see a party get through it without problems. Might want to save that for a later game.

"We Be Goblins" is one of Paizo's most amusing scenarios. Released for Free RPG Day last year, it allows the players to take the roles of goblins... vicious, backstabbing, hyperactive, dog-hating, horse-fearing, perpetually-hungry, anti-writing, psychopaths.

If you want regular characters to keep the experience, they can then wake up, thinking "I've had the WORST nightmare..."

Good one about the dream ending. When I ran it the players were required to introduce their goblin-PC using the song on their pre-gen sheet. I'm glad the entire table was into it. It was a fun slot.

I think every scenario has the ability to roleplay well. The GM just needs to find the story and highlight that moreso than mechanics and combat. Some scenarios are easier than others as most know who run a ton of PFS. As an example, an NPC had a minor part in a recent scenario release. I took that NPC and made her into a major *story* element that created huge roleplay situations within the party. It didn't change combat, objectives or length of the slot. It just made this NPC more a living character rather than a Diplomacy dice roll to learn where the party must go next.
