What happens when a caster uses more than one Shield Other or Unwilling Shield on different targets, and then takes damage?
Is it always divided evenly among total targets? I only ask because the spell descriptions don't take into account possible multiple castings, and always refer to "half damage to one, half damage to the other."
(Edited - Shield Other, not Shield :? )

This came up in another thread. The rules are actually silent on the matter, IIRC, and it falls into GM territory. I would probably rule it so that the damage is divided evenly between all those affected so while the caster takes less damage for every creature that fails a save, the bad guys also take less damage.
PS:The shield spell gives an AC bonus. The spell unwilling shield is the one that affects hp damage.

Under stacking rules wouldn't the most recently cast spell be the one "in effect"?
Spells that are cast on the target can only affect him in that manner. Unwilling shield, while it benefits the caster, is cast on someone else.
It would be easier to rule if the caster was the target, but he chose a victim. That way the spell would overlap, but definitely not stack.

I seem to recall seeing at some point something about the damage from the Shield Ally spell not being able to be "reduced," DR didn't reduce, resistances didn't come into play, etc. Was it one of the threads you mentioned or possibly a response from JJ? If it was, I would follow that same ruling with Unwilling Shield as it refers back to Shield Ally at least if it would help make the decision to the question any more narrow.
