Spell: Monstrous Physique questions.

Rules Questions

Hi there. Just wondering about the spell Monstrous Physique. It says that I can assume the form of a monstrous humanoid, and the 3rd level of the spell (a level 5 sorc/wiz spell) says that I can turn into a huge monstrous humanoid. Now, from what I know, there are no huge monstrous humanoids, and even if I missed one, there's still probably not a lot to choose from.

Can I turn into a huge version of an existing creature? Like say a huge Gargoyle or a tiny minotaur?

Thank you for any answers! :)

No, the spells were designed to work with future monsters, or home made ones. You can still use it to turn into a medium or large monster and get all the extra abilities.

You can't arbitrarily change the size of existing creatures or apply templates to creatures as part of the spell. As Mojorat suggests, it is future proofing to some extent.

Ah I see, thank you for your answers. A shame they turned out to be that, but I had a hunch it would end up like that :P

Again, thank you.

Try to convince your DM to let giants qualify. Even though they're technically not "monstrous," they really should be...

Giants are covered by the giant form spells.
