Hi pathfinder community, I wonder if you can help.
I have played quite a lot of dnd 4th edition and decided to come over to path finder as I perceive it to be a deeper and richer experience.
I have always been the gm and enjoy this a lot. I am slowly getting my head around the rules but find myself a bit stumped when it comes to the cost of magic items.
Basically I understand the cost of specific magic weapons but just need a bit of clarification on the cost of custom magic weapons.
Let's say i want to create a small delve for my new (and learning) player characters and want to place a long sword +1 as a treasure in my delve. I understand that I would deduct the cost of this item from my treasure budget for the level, but how do I cost this item.
Do I look at the cost of a normal long sword, add 300gp to the cost of this to make it masterwork, then add 2000gp (as stated for the base price on table 15-8 on page 468 of the core rule book)???
Have I got this right or am I totally wrong.
Thanks guys.
Mike. (new gm).

Thanks for the quick reply dudes. Can I just ask one more thing related to this.
Let's say I have 4 adventurers playing in my campaign. Table 12-4 on page 399 states that by the time my adventurers hit level 2 they should each have 1000gp each or there abouts (for a total of 4000gp for my level 1 delve).
If I stick this long sword +1 in one of the treasure parcels in my delve would I take the cost of this weapon (in this case 2315gp) and deduct it from my 4000gp treasure budget for the level, essentially meaning that I would give out a total of 1625gp over the course of the level.
Thx.
