Superior Summoning and general Summoner Qs

Rules Questions

Hi,
I'm starting a level 1 Summoner and just trying to get a feel for the class. I'm hearing a wide variety of suggestions as to what feats to take for both myself as a Summoner and for my Eidolon. If you have any tips on what feats to take would be appreciated too.
-Feats for myself? I was thinking Extra Evolution for my Eidolon (if my Eidolon can't choose it itself)and Craft Wondrous Item at 3
-Feats for Eidolon? I was thinking power attack and combat reflexes at 3

Question 1:
I heard taking spell focus, conjuration and augment summoning are good as level 1 feats (human) and then superior summoning at 3rd. But I don't know how superior summoning helps me? I thought that my summon monster spells conjure up a single creature. It says every time I cast a summoning spell that conjures more than one it adds +1, but I'm always summoning a single creature so what's the deal? Forgive me if this question is ignorant, but I'm new to Pathfinder.
Text of feat below>
"Superior Summoning. Prerequisites: Augment Summoning, caster level 3rd.
Benefit: Each time you cast a summoning spell that conjures more than one creature, add one to the total number of creatures summoned."

Question 2:
Can the 'extra evolution' feat be taken by my Eidolon or by my summoner only? From what others said I can take this feat once for every five levels (once between levels 1-4, once 5-9, once 10-14, once 15-20). I'm hoping this is the case?

Question 3:
What does the level 0 daze spell actually hit? It says it can hit a humanoid with less than 4HD, but I don't see HD listed in the bestiary for things like orcs, goblins, only their HP.

Thanks!

if you are mainly using your eidelon instead of the summon monsters spell like ability, you will not get much use out of augment summon or superior summoning.

superioir summoning does not apply to your eidelon. Augment summoning will only apply to your eidelon if you summon it via the 2nd level spell (which has severe time limits for duration). otherwise it will not work with your SLA for summon eidelon. If you plan on using spell slots to summon additional monsters, than both of those feats will work with those monsters. But if you are just going to mainly be using the eidelon?--I myself would not recommend those two feats. At least not if I understand the way they work with Spell like abilities for summoning eidelon.

those are good feats for a master summoner--who will have summons out besides his eidelon. you are probably better off with extra evolution if you have a regular summoner. The feat extra evolution has to be taken by the summoner--prereq is eidelon class feature--which is what your character has.

in the bestiary--after hps--it lists how many dice were rolled--ie 2d8+4 or whatever means 2 hd.

Scarab Sages

1. Summon Monster I summons 1 monster from the first level summon list. At higher levels your ability functions as Summon Monster II or higher. Higher level summon monster spells can choose to summon 1 monster from that level summon list, 1d3 monsters from the next list below it or 1d4 (maybe +1 more, I don't remember) from any list below that (2 or more levels lower). So for example: at level 3 you can summon 1 monster from the second level list, or 1d3 monsters from the first level list. With the feat you add 1 more to the 1d3 when you choose that option.

2. I don't know.

3. Hit dice are like monster levels. If you look at their hp it should show something like this:
HP: 15 (2d8 + 3)
This monster has 2 HD ( d8 rolled twice)
