On a related note, anybody know how they decide who sits by which developer at the banquet? Are there any requests if you have a personal favorite? Is it first come, top down? Or totally random? And if I'm coming with a buddy, can we get put at the same table?
First come, first serve.

Yep, last year there were 47 people sitting at Liz's table. It was three rows deep with 7 people under the table and 4 sitting on top.

The hotel's construction and the highly stretched out nature of the convention in 2012 hurt the intimate feeling for me and made it difficult to really find the people I wanted to talk to. I hope with the hotel's expanded convention space things will feel less stretched out and more intimate. I was getting pretty frustrated near the end at all the constant walking back and forth to find events and people.

Also, please please PLEASE, don't schedule PaizoCon 2014 on the weekend of the 4th of July.
This year, it was the only option available to us in the venue we selected.
We realize that it's bad for some people, but we know it's also a boon to those who are able to take advantage of the paid holiday to extend their potential travel plans. The fact that it's not a popular weekend for events like this also means that our costs are lower—which keeps ticket costs lower—and room rates are lower as well.

My situation is the exact opposite. I work in contract security, so I'm not allowed to request major holidays off. It sucks, but it's a job, and pays the bills most months.

Also, for those of you considering sharing rooms, the rooms at the Airport Marriott are 10-20% smaller than the ones from last year, according to the Marriott site. Not a huge difference, and they do still allow 1 cot in addition to 1 king or 2 doubles. Squeezing in 4 people probably a bit harder this year.

Hmm I'm seriously tempted. Never been able to consider it before because of the June dates conflicting with my work.
A question: is there a GM tier 1 volunteer option like at the big cons (shared room and all that) or is this more like a local con where you get a few badge or something? Just thought I would ask before booking anything.

We don't offer rooms to Tier 1 GMs at PaizoCon, only at Gen Con. We offer a free badge, some free shirts, free products, etc...

Also within walking distance of the light rail, which will get you to downtown Seattle in about 45 minutes. And no parking worries when you get there

What you offer most is three days of non stop fun. Just sayin'...

For those of us in the minority, coming from 'furrin' countries who have different holidays, this is just awesome.
Not only Paizocon, but come in a day early and get FIREWORKS too!

Well, there has been conflicting information in the past that I was told it’s ok to at least have it in your shopping cart and your copy is ‘held’, so that is why I wanted to clarify.
Thanks.

Count me in as someone who really hopes you find another weekend to have it on in future years. I really would like to attend. IIRC in 2011 (which was the first time I knew of the con) it was in mid-June. I missed it due to extenuating circumstances but I thought mid-June was a fantastic time to have a con, before major convention rush, and I was all set to block off vacation time. Then it was announced for 4th of July weekend, which is always either dominated by family events or a MAJOR conference for my religious community---plus every time I have traveled on that weekend, it has been expensive and an absolute, crowded nightmare. I was really hoping that was a fluke and it would go back to June.
So I am a very sad DeathQuaker. In addition to all the gaming goodness, I've always wanted to visit Seattle.
I realize my personal travel issues are not on Paizo's priority list for scheduling, and I understand scheduling and rental costs are big big big issues. Someone's gotta end up disappointed, though, I guess.
