Hey all, if any of you happen to get Hermine Carating as your GM for a Society event, consider yourselves lucky. Gotta say he was the best I've encountered all weekend. As he was the last GM for me for PFS during Gen Con, his style and technique managed to wash out the negativity I was feeling from the other PFS events I was in throughout the con. I don't know if there's a way to request GMs during PFS, but it's something I'll look into doing in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about some negative feelings with the other PFS events. Please email me at mike.brock@paizo.com and let me know what happened so I can try to adjust things and make PFS better in the future.

Thanks for pending some of our Gen Con time at PFS.

Runnetib, if you don't mind, could you let us know what Hermine did right? Many of us GMs are always looking to improve our game, and hearing what other people are doing that is awesome helps us get better.

Sovereign Court

Sure.

He rewarded player ingenuity, be it a +1 on a skill check, or allowing skill checks that weren't necessarily called out in the text of the adventure.

He acted not like a GM-for-hire, but as though we were his group of players.

Despite the time constraints inherent in PFS slots, he didn't block RP attempts, nor did he gloss over attempts made to RP with NPCs. (we still finished early)

Not only did he add voice to NPCs, but he added character as well.

He knew Pathfinder.
