So today was my first PFS event, my inquisitor was rocking the show until it came time for the climb check. It was my job to climb to the top of the cliff and then haul the rest of the party up. I got to the the last check and failed, triggering a landslide that killed my inquisitor. so my question is this, what do I do with this chronicle sheet? how do I apply it to my new character?
Unfortunately if the character was killed, the chronicle can only be applied to the dead character. On the plus side, you can always change the name, and -# to the inquisitor and keep playing it.

strange, my GM told me I could apply that sheet to a new character, the inquisitor that died was lvl 1, if that helps.
My understanding (and people can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is that if the character dies the chronicle stays with the character and when the reporting is done (if it is) the character has to be reported as dead...
Your GM was wrong. Chronicles are not transferable between characters.
Yeah, PFCBG is right. If your character dies and you don't get raised, the chronicle goes towards the character, and under condition gained should have "Death". The GM should make sure to mark the character dead when he reports.
Well, he only saw action once, so should I just shred him or take it up with my GM so he can report it?

If so, change his number to -2, make any changes that you want, and change his name .. you can keep playing him, you just can't play that scenario again
Thanks for your help everyone, I think I might just keep him, at least for a reference later.
Just in case there's any confusion, when people are saying "keep playing him", they mean "start a completely fresh character with the same stats". He won't have the other PC's accumulated gold or gear or whatever.
I agree with pfcbg if you liked the character rename it nd make it -2 and start fresh with it, if you did not enjoy the character take the chance to make something new either way the chronicall sheet does not transfer. That said I hope yo enjoyed the game and welcome to PFS
