Hi there.
I'm not quite a first-time GM, and I've got 6 players for a RotRL game. Everyone is pretty new to Pathfinder, so last night was just rolling up characters. Luckily folks staggered getting to my house, so I didn't have to help make all the characters at once, but I think my first mistake is not actually having a physical CR on hand.
Party
Human monk
Orc ranger (beastmaster)
halfling oracle (haunted/flame) (rockin' the sling staff)
gnome (academician) sorcerer (draconic (blue))
gnome rogue
elf rogue
Game session #1 is two weeks away. I've built my paper minis, drawn out the opening maps on my flip-mat (which will eventually wash off), and I have a cool foot race set up for the festival beforehand. Also, for 6 PCs I'm going to give he advanced template to named bad guys, and bump up mooks by 50%. Any other advice?

We've been running RotRL with between 4-8 people, depending on turnout.
Some fights have been really difficult and some have been absurdly easy.
From your party composition though, the one thing I cans say is that you are possibly a little light on healing.
Our Oracle is using the Life Mystery and has been utilising healing on a consistent basis from about level 7-8 onwards (we're currently level 11). I knnow this won't affect you for a while and the party will probably change in that time, but it's one thing to consider.
I might suggest prompting one of the rogues to maybe play something like a Paladin, Magus or even (as ours is, an Oracle/Sorcerer/Mystic Theurge).

we will begin RotRL Sunday...it is my first run at a PF AP and I am really excited about what i have read thus far (unfortunately only chapter 1).I have a 5 person group. I started them with 20 point buy and max starting gp. I have (to date):
human oracle (Life)
human oracle (shapechanger?)
human barbarian
dwarf rogue or bard archeologist
and 5th doesn't know but leaning toward dwarf something
i haven't decided if i should up encounters yet? i wanted to buy the town maps and stuff but i will attempt to drawn it out on our battle map with printed copies for reference.
any ideas about what to watch out for in chapter 1? and tools and things i will need/....thanks
