Hello peoples!
I was wondering what other magicless classes are out there beyond the CRB and APG? I would really like to look over some additional options that aren't just more casters or caster hybrids. Something along the lines of the Gunslinger without guns (which don't exist in my setting) might be neat. Anything without a spell list would be interesting really.

Reflavoring the Gunslinger to use bows/crossbows/whatever shouldn't be too difficult, I think.
Super Genius Games has some classes you might or might not be interested in; you can look them up on the PF SRD.

wraithstrike wrote:The ninja and samurai.Ya I forgot about those as they're really just heavy cultural archetypes rather then unique classes. Also my setting is European/Middle Eastern/African based. Thanks for the reminder though. :)
You can always change the flavor, and keep the mechanics. The ninja can just be an assassin. It does it better than the PrC does. :)
The Samurai can be a Knight.

Do you mean no spells or no magic?
Rite Publishing has a Faces of the Tarnished Souk: nix bael (something like that) that has the crossbow slinger. It's a simple, if well done, conversion.
There's also a product called A Fist Full of Denarii (TOZ, correct me) whose entire goal was to bring non-magical classes up to snuff compared to magical ones. They are in general more powerful than the base non-magicals, but this is on purpose. Their Scout class in particular is pretty much the only non-magical class that interests me right now.

I'm sort of seeing Robin Hood here. :p

True but they're still more or less their base classes. The way I see it I already have Cavaliers and Rogues. I just use Cavaliers as Knights, Rogues as Assassins, Druids as Shamans, etc. If I start down the path you suggest I would want to make archetypes for everything and there's way too much in the world to go that way. ^_^

Well I guess it depends on how you define magic. Some would say that Monks and Barbarians are magic classes. I'd say I'm looking for spelless classes. Specifically broad concepts that can be applied to any number of cultures. A Scout class sounds like it might be interesting. I'll have to check that out.

I think that would work better for him than ranger, actually. When did we ever see Robin Hood with an animal buddy or casting spells? (Though I guess you COULD always stat him as the spell-less archetype and give him the other ranger bond with the Merry Men as his companions, but I digress.)

Ok I was looking over A Fist Full of Denarii. That's kind of exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. The Scholar looks particularly interesting. Thematically the others can be covered by existing classes. A non-spell casting intellectual type is a new and unique angle though. Anywho! Has anybody used these? From the reviews I skimmed over it sounds like there might be some balance issues.

Those were just examples. :)
My main point was that I never see the point in banning mechanics for flavor just because that is what the devs assigned to it. If the player wants to be X he now just has another set of mechanics to use.
