Does Improved Grapple help you maintain a grapple?

Improved grapple states:

Benefit: You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a grapple combat maneuver. In addition, you receive a +2 bonus on checks made to grapple a foe. You also receive a +2 bonus to your Combat Maneuver Defense whenever an opponent tries to grapple you.

The part I have a question about is: "you receive a +2 bonus on checks made to grapple a foe" does this include the check you make every turn to maintain your grapple?

Follow up question: enhancement bonus don't apply to grapple checks, correct?

Thanks!

Yes, it gives you a +2 on your CMB to grapple, this is for all grapple checks. Also, you should be getting +5 when you maintain since your enemy hasn't broken out of your grapple.

Depends on what enhancements. AoMF is supposed to give you bonus to CMB on grapple. True Strike does for sure.

I see, I was hoping that was the case. I guess I have another question, how much rope do you need to tie somebody up? 50 feet seems... excessive, but I have never tied anybody up personally so I don't know.

50 ft would be pretty excessive, but it's kind of up to your GM (I don't think there's any written rule about how much it takes). 5 foot of rope will tie up a person's hands pretty well, 10 foot of rope will likely be more than enough to hogtie. I personally try to go for 10 foot of rope out of my 50ft rope and use the rest for dragging around the enemy, or using it as part of my Coup de Grace flavor.
