That's pretty much the question. For my kobold sorc, I have a fifth level spell slot, and I have to chose between the two. The versatility of telekinesis, and the fact that Icy prison is a Ref based save or lose. I have pilfering hand, hydraulic push, and grasping hand on my spell list (at different levels mind you) so i can do a lot of the stuff telekinesis can already without it. but the sheer versatility of the spell is great. though.. Ref based SoL...
