Dear Paizo, When are you printing a revised edition of the rules?

Homebrew and House Rules

I am NOT talking about a new edition of PF.

I mean a revision of the current rulebook that clears up RAPW (rules as poorly written), and has better organization.

Just Wondering,
rev

P.S. This is not a complaint about the game, it's great, I really am just wondering if there is a revision in store.

They update each new printing with errata to fix errors and adjust rules.

However, these updates must match current layout and wordcounts as reorganizing the book is an expense they are not willing to accept at this time.

Yeah, you have to remember that things are constantly brought up and things need time (and money, and unaffected changes) to be fleshed out.

Personally, I would most likely think they have a link to their official website in regards to updates for their book releases somewhere, and that GM's and Players should constantly check it out to keep their rules up to date.

But as far as a reprinting/revised copy of the original books being released? Won't be a while, as each time a thing is replaced, it alters the format of the book, and they need to change/include more things for it to be a necessity to reprint/revise.

Files containing official updates to the rules can be found at the top of your My Downloads page.

Yeah, these are good points that I am aware of. A revision of the rules is not a trivial undertaking.

But still I am wondering when a revision will happen. There are some things that really need to be rewritten and clarified. For example, I am new to PF and I did not come from another gaming system. I am aware that PF came from D&D 3.5 (PF = "3.75" right) and as such I beleive there are many established precedents that the core rulebook relies on. Like when I first tried to create a character that was somewhat challenging (it's all there, just not as well organized as it could be), but harder than that was the first time I tried to level a character. If it wasn't for d20pfsrd I'd probably still be missing some detail (but even the website could have been better organized, but understandable since it is based on the rulebook).

Anyway, this is not a complaint. Thanks Paizo, for Pathfinder. Is there a rulebook revision planned?

I believe that between the "OMG it's a new edition Paizo is like WotC now they lied to us all the time" people and "Oooh a new revision, say, how about you FINALLY make some changes I always requested" people, any Words of Gods on this matter will be very carefully timed and phrased.

Read: likely not in an offhand forum post.

What they need is to redo the Core Rulebook as a cookbook.

The whole "monsters are customers too" angle has really been neglected.

Cookbook? Do you mean something like the 2nd Edition Monstrous Compendium 3 ring binder deal?
That could be bonus seeing as how when something is revised all you have to do is print out that page to replace the one that has been updated. Just a thought.

No, recipes.

Even just an inexpensive April 1st PDF download would be something to prompt us monstrous humanoids to open our wallet.

Perhaps call it "Cooking with the Iconics"?

Here are some rough ideas to get the Paizo staff or other forum members thinking...

Valeros: Shish Kabob appetizer. A marinade in red wine sauce will both soften this Fighter's thick, corded musculature and compliment his Human flavor. Carrots and pineapple will bring out the wine and meat flavors. Avoid sweet peppers...

Harsk: Brisket. Dwarf. Brisket. Need we say more? Remember that even for low-temperature long-duration cooking Dwarf should cook twice as long as Humman...

Feiya: Witch Hair Pasta in Fox and Vegetable Soup. The big trick is timing. We need to slay and cook the Witch during the few minutes her Prehensile Hair is active or this dish will taste like cardboard...

Merisiel: Porridge. Now, I understand your skepticism, but it is possible to make a very nice porridge from Elf. The secret is to...
