RANT//
I am sick of +1 rings I am level 10. I know we are in a jungle so i understand that the first few books may be loot light. but we are in a forgotten Azlanti City that no adventurer has been into for 100,000 years? so where are all the sweet +16 magic Swords. the Azlanti were supposed to be this uber advanced magic pooping race right? it is like finding an abandoned Jedi temple that nobody has set foot in 1000 years and not finding a single light saber. RANT ended//
but seriously do we ever find any good magic items that aren't terribly cursed? I just killed a RAkshasha he had a +1 dagger and a water walking ring.
how have you dealth with the lack of loot and lack of being able to sell loot?

Yar.
That is book 3. You are quite literally just scratching the surface, but are also likely on the verge of starting book 4 (seeing as you are level 10). Also, all I can recommend is to make good use of whatever faction is following you. Sell the nonmagical loot, the useless trinkets, the information you find on Azlanti culture, and whatnot, and use that gold to commission gear. It takes time and has it's limits, but until it starts raining magic on you, you gotta make due with the resources you have available.
*shrugs*
May not be what you want to hear, but that's the way it is.

Very slight correction: Saventh-Yhi has only been abandoned for 10,000 years, but I get your point. And my apologies if that was meant as an intentional exaggeration. :)

Well... to run with your Jedi temple example and avoid giving away any spoilers... If the Jedi sensed a world shattering disaster coming through the Force, and they were preparing for it... would they just leave their lightsabers lying around in the kitchen or on the front walk? They'd store them away somewhere safe, right?
You find these "safe keeping" areas in Book 4. As Glutton said: that's where the loot found takes a pleasant increase.how have you dealth with the lack of loot and lack of being able to sell loot?
Well the base camps have a gp limit of 2500, so once those get set up at the beginning of Book 3 you can sell most of your common items found (and unload anything you found through the second half of Book 2 since leaving Kalabuto).
Anything to sell or buy bigger than that you'll need to order through your resupply caravans that will take about a week. You can still buy and sell expensive items, you just have to plan for a little turn around time.An easy work around this is a wizard with teleport. This was my party wizard's first priority once he hit that level. From there, teleport runs to and from Kalabuto became the norm to quickly sell expensive loot and buy items.
As for the LACK of loot, my party has been hitting the crafting pretty hard. Remember that you can still craft "on the road" at half speed. So you've got a 2 month journey to Tazion and about a 3 month exploration of Saventh-Yhi. That's a lot of crafting time to supplement loot found.

My players have been complaining about lack of loot as well. Course, they only hit level 3 tonight. Still, other than a +1 dagger and some MW gear, they've not found anything beyond a few consumables. I'm fixing that by adding loot to the appropriate random encounters. I plan to do this throughout the adventure path, at least until book 4 where, as others have said, the loot starts to flow more freely.

Our group has two magic item creators, and two others that assist in the creation process. As long as we had the gold, we were able to make anything we needed. I do agree that the amount of useful loot is kindof lacking, but the overall wealth level should balance, especially if you have a magic item creator in the group.
Our GM also found the 'waiting for the resupply trains' to be asinine so he dubbed if we wanted to buy something expensive outright that our camp had magic chest that could teleport items to and from Absalom in order to accomodate us.

I'm going to guess that you mean ** spoiler omitted **
both of those worthless unless sold. that first item nearly got the party Killed! so... it was kind of like Christine from the Stephen King books a cool looking car but locks the doors and tries to run over your family.... definite draw backs if you ask me. the second item was useful but only to the Sorcerer I will admit I zoned out when the description was read so I forgot what it does.
what we need is practical loot like better armor or swords we did find a +1 keen wave sword?. that we could of use once while fighting a beast underwater. we are descending to the 4th book this Saturday so I will keep you posted

yeah, those were the two I was talking about.
I actually subbed out the second item for several more useful items of lesser value.
The first item is both a fun plot device and fairly valuable. I'm going to turn it into a roleplay subplot and award some decent cash if my players handle it well.
We've just moved on to book 4 as well. I added a lot of faction dynamics that sort of carried everyone past some of the rougher points of Book 3. I've also done a couple "mysterious caravans passing through" where I hand waved the travel times for specific instances.
Being a crafter by book 3 is great, as other people have noted.
