Looked through the ARG to determine the RP cost of a mite. Below is what I found in the book, but I had a few problems. The following traits do not have a cost and I was wondering what they would cost:
Ability Scores:-2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma
Damage Resistance: 2/cold iron.
Skill: +4 racial bonus on Sleight of Hand skill checks
Vermin Empathy: This ability functions as a druid's wild empathy, save that a mite can only use this ability on vermin and the mite’s class level is used in place of the druid level. A mite gains a +4 racial bonus on this check. Vermin are normally mindless, but this empathic communication imparts on them a modicum of implanted intelligence, allowing mites to train vermin. Vermin empathy treats swarms as if they were one creature possessing a single mind—a mite can thus use this ability to influence and direct the actions of swarms with relative ease.

RP are supposed to be an approximation of how effective these races are as characters, i.e. if given class levels and gear and etc. CR is supposed to be an approximation of how effective the creatures are in battle as statted up in the Bestiary. An individual mite is pretty wimpy (3 hp = one magic missile and blargh i am ded) but a mite with class levels in, say, druid could be pretty effective.

I think that the problem is that RP does not distinguish between optimized choices. You can build two PC of wildly different power by choosing good feats for one ad alertness for the other.
RP suffers from the same problem. Mites have a lot of skill options that do not increase their combat effectiveness.
