I see that the "Find events near you" link has been removed and In my humble opinion that is an important link to keep on the main page. (I believe now its under get involved and events)
The button before was easier to find and stood out from the rest of the text. It seems silly to think making it one step further away is that big of a deal but anything that can help a new recruit find events in his/her area seems like a good idea to me.
Some people are not the heavy reading type and just want to find an event near them and learn from real people.
On a more selfish note I personally miss the button because I am afraid of change and keep looking for it to see what events i'm running without having to login.
