A few answers for all Gen Con 2012 GMs and volunteers

Hi all. I've received several questions after sending out confirmations of GM schedules and hotel reservation info to Tier 1 GMs, and I wanted to respond to all of them in one email and post since I will be on the road for the next 18 days starting tomorrow at 6 am. I will still have email access, just not as regular as normal.

Customer service is going to start placing PDFs of scenarios in everyone's downloads soon. There are 154 volunteers and GMs so please have patience. Scenarios 4-01, 4-02, 4-03 and 4-04, as well as the Gen Con Special rounds 1 and 2, are still in development. Expect those five scenarios towards the end of the first week of August.

If you choose to purchase your scenarios ahead of time, there is no reimbursement for those.

We will have both PFS Exclusive volunteer shirts, as well as the Bestiary Box Pawn Set for Tier 1 and 2 GMs, at PFS HQ to pick up upon check-in when you receive your badge.

The $10/slot credit will be issued to all GMs before Gen Con, on or around Aug. 6-13. This will allow you to spend the credit at Gen Con.

Badges will be available for pick-up starting at 7 am on Thursday morning. For VCs attending the VC Dinner the night before, I will be providing your badges then.

PFS HQ Volunteers in the first slot each morning need to be on site between 7-7:30 am. I plan to be there before 7:30 each day.

For people running the GM 101 workshops and Kid's Track sessions, we currently have lesson plans for both in editing and layout. You will receive those PDFs if you are scheduled as a normal or overfill GM for either.

At this point, it is almost impossible to switch any slots or scenarios currently assigned to you. As mentioned above, I am on the road at 6 am tomorrow for 18 days, with 12 of those being in Europe. I get back two weeks before the con and have a ton of prep work for it, such as shipping everything and getting the 5 scenarios for Season 4 out to all of you.

***A SPECIAL SURPRISE FOR GMs RUNNING Gen Con Special, Part 1***
I wanted to make this year's special awesome. One of the ways to do this is to make sure all of our GMs had all of the flipmats and the Chase Card Deck to properly run the special and give every player the same awesome experience. So, if you are scheduled to GM the Special, Part 1 on Friday night, instead of the $10/slot store credit, you will receive all 3 flip maps used in round 1, as well as the Chase Deck. That's $50 worth of products given to all 75 GMs as a thank you for helping us make the special as awesome as it can be this year. If you would rather receive the $10/slot credit and not the 3 maps and deck, we can work something out.

I think that covers everything. Let me know if you have any questions,

Very Cool Mike.

And just to put info together: I called the hotel. Check-in starts at 3pm for those judges getting a room.

The hotel usually has a place you can store your bags until check in.

Plus, you can always ask if they're allowing early check-in once you get here. Did it in San Diego once, 10am for a 3pm check-in, and they were totally cool with it. Depends on how many rooms they have ready early, and how many other people want the same thing. Good luck with it.

I guess that depends on which maps are included within the scenario..

I probably shouldn't be worried that this hasn't happened yet, right?

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/5

I'd be worried if you haven't seen them in about 2 weeks.

I agree, this is pretty awesome. Albeit not as awesome if I already own the flip maps. But that just gives me some cool prizes to give away to our local area!
