So I have decided to play a Gillman Summoner. Since I can swim and breath underwater, I thought my Eidolon should as well. If I choose to go aquatic build for it, can it still survive on land? I know it shows it has a land speed of 20ft. But for how long can it survive? My character (taking the Riverfolk trait to replace water dependant) can survive on land or in water for however long he wants. But there is nothing stated on how long an aquatic Eidolon can survive on land nor are there any evolutions that I saw that specify land survival for aquatic.

The only thing I can assume from this is that even tho it is aquatic, it starts out as a land dweller but then gains the swim and gills evolutions to make it able to survive indefinitely on land or in water. Is that correct? Just seems funny if you make it look like an aquatic creature (let's say dolphin just as an example) that it can just walk around on land.

What do you have that lets you play a gillman? As far as I know, they are not a PFS legal race.

Another question as well please.

Taken from the description of Eidolons...

"Eidolons are treated as summoned creatures, except that they are not sent back to their home plane until reduced to a number of negative hit points equal to or greater than their Constitution score."

So does that mean that once called, it does not get banished til one of the causes of banishment happens (voluntary, summoner unconscious, sleeping, etc). So technically, if called first thing in the morning, it can stay all day until the summoner goes to sleep for the night unless it is banished for one of the banishment reasons?

I can answer your later question, but yes, as long as the eidolon has hit points left, the summoner is awake, and nothing has sent it away, for one reason or another, the eidolon can be with you from shortly after you wake up in the morning until you go to sleep at night.

Given that gills are an evolution, and it is given to the Aquatic base form for free, it looks like it should be able to handle land and water environments indefinitely.

Quote:
Gills (Ex): An eidolon has gills and can breathe underwater indefinitely.

As to my question, I am going to assume that, at this point, since this is in the PFS forums, that you have a Gillman boon, allowing you to play a gillman, since that race is not normally available, at this time, for PFS.

Not sure about the aquatic question, but I'm pretty sure that you are correct about the Eidolon staying all day. The way I read it, if you had a way to stay awake forever, it could stay with you.
