Ki Mystic - how does the ki pool work?

I have two questions looking for a more-or-less official answer about the Ki Mystic archetype.

The first: does the ki pool granted by the Ki Mystic feature of the archetype stack with that granted by the ki pool feature of the monk class? I've seen arguments both ways on this.

The second: if so, or if the Ki Mystic feature fully replaces the pool from the base class, can the Ki Mystic pool be spent to gain the same benefits as the standard ki pool, or is it limited to only the uses listed under the Ki Mystic description?

Personal interpretations are, of course, appreciated, but official rulings are much more useful.

We cannot answer with an official ruling because none exists. This question has been asked before, but the developers never responded.
