Hey guys, I'm currently working on developing an Android application to streamline initiative for your party. I'm hoping to have a usable demo up by the end of this month. The app will feature both a Single-User and Multi-User mode (to be completed later). Some of the features will include..
Single User
-Add up to 8 party members (Name and initiative modifier)
-Save/Load Party (up to 5 parties can be stored)
-Add up to 10 temporary combat units (monsters, etc)
-Automatically roll initiative! (Yup thats a boring feature)
-Allow movement to a "readied action" and "Delay" area
-Deletion of dead/Out of combat units
Multi-User
-Same in-battle features as single user
-Connect to a "host" device (maximum party of 8 + host) over wi-fi
-Creation of character (name, init mod)
-Save/load character (Up to 5 can be stored)
-Host can add up to 10 temporary combatants
-...And extra neat features to help you use the app between devices ;)
So what I'd like to know from you is:
-Is this something that would enhance your game?
-Do you think your group would get more use out of the single- or multi-user version?
-Is this something you would pay for? If yes, how much?
-Is there anything else you would want an initiative app to do for you?
Please let me know what you think! Currently there is no plan for an iPhone version of this (too costly to develop for).

I would probably pay for it, (if there is a lite/free version to test it out).
I would be most interested in 2 features.
1.) is randomly rollng Init for the "extra units" only, and
2.) th ability to enter a combat encounter or two in advance, basically so all that can be tken care of, and the plaers Init can be entered as they roll it, but everything else is already saved in say Combat 1, and Combat 2 files that can just be loaded and then deleted during play.
I wouldn't so much care about any wi-fi features, prefering everything simply just be saved on the phone/SD card, or in my case my Nook Color.
One other option I personally would like is an options button on the screen, rather than a key on the device.

I guess what I would like to see is something like the combat pad. Something very simple. Enter the name. Do ready action, do delay action. Organize by roll. (Not have it roll for the characters/players.)
Track hit points.
All of this on the same page. Like the Combat Pad. Oh and track the number of rounds. Wifi. Not needed per se. A way to save the names of the players. and then add encounters if need be to save the GM time he makes them before hand.
Make it generic and not game specific Like D&D, Pathfinder, CoC, WoD and so on.

I want the option to enter the initiative for PCs. My players love to roll their dice. When I tried a program for initiative before, this was there biggest complaint.
As far a single/multi user. While I like the concept of being networked, there are just too many incompatible devices to make it work. If I wanted to use it at my game table, I would need a PC version, an android version, and an iPad version because that's the devices that my players use at the game table.
Tracking hit points is nice also.
