So, some of the covers are out, and I was pretty shocked by this one. No, not because of Seoni's pose, I've grown accustomed to that, but... why does Valeros look like a middle-aged woman of African descent?
Because comics that's why. As far as I know, it's not drawn by Paizo's regular artists at all.
It's one thing not to resemble Valeros as we know him from Wayne Reynolds' art. That's understandable, because that's Wayne Reynolds we're talking about.
Without the armor and weapons, I wouldn't have known it was a man in the picture, let alone Valeros.
That's a little overblown, even for Seoni. I'm not sure what she's expecting to happen in that position but...
...she just better hope that Valeros didn't stick a "kick me" sign on her back when she wasn't looking.
