How do you use intimidate to influence crowds?

I noticed that the urban barbarian gains 1/2 level in bonuses to intimidate to influence crowds. However, under the intimidate skill there are only rules to demoralize or influence a single target.

Does this mean the bonus to intimidate for the urban barbarian is useless?

It seem that was a writer error. I would press the FAQ button.

Well there are ways to intimidate multiple people in combat with certain feats, but not out of combat, that I know of.

Yes but they are to demoralize not influence, so they don't apply.
