Linguistics class skill / bonus languages

hello all!

question:

if you have linguistics as a class skill and put a single rank in it, does it give you an additional language or does it give you four, seeing as you get +3 for that first rank?

It gives you one, the skill bonus and rolls for Linguistics are for things like deciphering coded secret pages in an old tome, or reading a book that was damaged

The Linguistics Skill is now a catch all for most language based/linguistics based skills. Decipher Script & knowing languages mostly, but also have the chance of understanding bits of a language you don't know by rolling it & picking up "The gist" of what they are saying. your "Ranks" add to the languages you know while the bonuses including INT are added to the chances of everything else. (although you still also get INT bonus extra languages still)
