Hey wondering which of the Map packs has the best trees...looking for a pack to quickly create forest encounters with lots of trees. Any ideas? I guess I could make my own...

If you poke around the local hobby and craft stores you can often find model trees used for dioramas and model railroad terrain cheap. I've also had good luck using the plastic plants and terrain for goldfish tanks which you can get at pet stores.

One of our local Dollar Stores has a package of trees in the Toy section. There are several palm trees and a really nice tree that I'm not sure what it is (but its cool). There are also some plastic rocks and bales of hay and a funky 2d palm tree that I've cut up some of them and used for log bridges.

Something I do is hit the department stores just after Christmas when they have all the holiday decoreations on clearance; you can find scale model trees cheap sometimes.

This works after Halloween, too, for that matter, for creepy trees or other similar decorations.

I search the Internet for top-down pictures of trees (png files work best), cut/paste them onto a document fairly spaced out, then color print them onto acetate sheets (overhead transparency paper). Cut them out and you've got trees you can freely move around on top of any sheet of hex paper. Lots of all green flip mats suddenly become forests.
