If I'm flying about on a large attended object, such as a flying carpet, flying cauldron, or a figurine of wondrous power, does turning invisible effect the object as well?

Nope. By the wording of invis you have to be holding the item, or it has to be in your possession(in your pocket as an example). <---possible intent.

RAW if the item is "dropped or put down" aka out of your possession it is still not invisible.

PS:I am not sure about intent. I would allow it to work, but with the carpet it would not make any other riders invisible.

So, an attended item can possibly be not in your possession?

What's the game definition of 'attended'?

The invis spell does not say attended items are invisible. It basically says held items since dropped or put down items are not invisible.

We've always ruled that the carpet was not part of the person for invisibility. I can see it argued either way. I find it weird that if you are standing on a flying carpet and drink a potion of invisibility that it disappears too.
