Hey there Paizo Community,
A question came up when glancing over cleric Archetypes. Crusader says you only get 1 domain and merciful healer says you only get 1 domain and it must be healing. My question is could you take them both? since if you had 1 domain and it was healing you would qualify or do they both mean you loose 1 domain so in turn would have to loose 2 and in turn couldn't take healing domain making it impossible.
Thanks for the Input.
(A crusader chooses only one domain and gains one fewer spell of each level than normal. If this reduces the number to 0, she may cast spells of that level only if they are domain spells or if her Wisdom allows bonus spells of that level.)
+
(A merciful healer must choose the Healing domain. She does not gain a second domain. If the cleric worships a deity, that deity must be one that grants the Healing domain. A merciful healer must channel positive energy.)

I just checked this out in HeroLab and it allowed it, so I'm pretty sure it's kosher, but the only domain you'd be getting the the Healing domain.
As a general rule, I would avoid using "it works in HeroLab" as a source for rules. It is a good product, but not associated with Paizo. Beyond the fact their interpretation of the rules may not always be correct, there are also occasional programming errors that allow things to slip through.
In this case, Mojorat is right. You can never take two archetypes that change the same feature. The rule exists in part to avoid situations like this, where one would basically be giving up the second domain twice for different sets of extra abilities.

Oh I know, but as I'm at work right now it was the quickest way for me to check.
