Possible Summoner dip?

Advice

How bad of an idea would it be to take a level dip into Summoner? I'm currently a level 2 Mooncaller Druid with a slight melee focus. The flavor of the character is very wolf-heavy (didn't take wolf shaman mostly because I don't like what it does to Wild Shape.) I was thinking somewhere down the line taking a level in Summoner to get a wolfy eidolon, and enhance my sub-par summoning skills. I like the flavor, but how terrible is it, mechanically?

Super super terrible. The eidolon will be incredibly weaak for your level.

The only way to make this even remotely useful would be to design your eidolon to be good outside of combat. You can get his some of his skills up to around ten for one level of summoner, and he can be a scout. But yes, in combat he is going to be a very squishy meatshield at best.

Yeah, I was afraid he wouldn't be effective being a level one Eidolon. Again, it was mostly for flavor, but maybe this is an idea to be locked up in the vault. Thanks for the advice!
