I'm running a Skull & Shackles adventure and i have a PC who is a synthesis summoner.
I'm not entirely sure of how to deal with the temoporary HP and how it is affected by non-lethal damage (either through brawls, lashings or environment hazard.
Also; how this non-lethal damage would be affected by the summoner's life link.

Think of the Eidolon as Venom (from spider-man)
Loss of all of it's hit points sends it home.
While loss of all it's non-lethal hit points would disconnect it from the summoners control.
As for the environmental hazards, external hazards same as above.
(Fire, cold, fatigue)
Internal hazards shutch as breathing, the summoner is affected as well.
(Altitude, gasses, loss of sleep)
Although, if the Eidolons could breath underwater, I would sat it is filtering out the air for the summoner.
At least that's how I would run it.

I don't think non-lethal interacts with temporary hp at all. Temporary hp just means it takes you longer to go unconscious. Remember that you track non-lethal damage separately. it doesn't actually reduce your hp in the same way as lethal damage does. You go unconscious when your non-lethal damage exceeds your current hp.
Dealing Nonlethal Damage: Certain attacks deal nonlethal damage. Other effects, such as heat or being exhausted, also deal nonlethal damage. When you take nonlethal damage, keep a running total of how much you've accumulated. Do not deduct the nonlethal damage number from your current hit points. It is not “real” damage. Instead, when your nonlethal damage equals your current hit points, you're staggered (see below), and when it exceeds your current hit points, you fall unconscious.
