Flummox by the solo tactics of the Inquisitor

Rules Questions

I am having a hard time with the solo tactics of the inquisitor. In particular I am looking at the Allied Spellcaster ability.

Am I reading this right? As long as I stand next to a spellcaster I gain a +2 to overcome SR and if they have the same spell memorized I get +4.

What about the outflanked and paired opportunist ability?
So I am flanking a ogre with my fighter buddy. I gain a +4. If I crit the ogre my fighter buddy gets an AoO. But since I also have paired opportunist I get an AoO since he took an AoO and now my AoO is at a +4 which may or maynot stack with the flanking... Do you really get to make Ogre pudding or am I reading into and thinking about this too much.

Allied Spellcaster will actually work with absolutely any ally next to you. Solo Tactics does not require the ally be able to meet the prerequisites of the feat, and Allied Spellcaster only says you have to be "adjacent to an ally who also has this feat." It would give you +2 to overcome SR for standing next to your pet dog. Yes, it is a bit silly, but Solo Tactics can get wonky at times.

With regards to Outflank, you would gain a +4 (instead of +2) for flanking, but your critical hit would no give your ally a free attack of opportunity. His critical hits, however, would let you take an AoO. It is explained in this FAQ.

Paired Opportunists would get you an extra +4 on any AoO, but it is important to remember that it requires that you be adjacent to an ally, not flanking with them. Combining it with Outflank pretty much requires at least two allies around (as well as careful positioning if you don't have Gang Up). Still though, it can get pretty brutal. Combat Reflexes + Paired Opportunists + Outflank + Gang Up would make a pretty insane pike formation.

Thanks for the link to the FAQ. I think that clears up some of the logic that went into this ability.
