So I've an idea for a weapon... and...

Homebrew and House Rules

which spells would I need to need to have to make a weapon that severs the link between an outsider and its home plane making it a native outsider??

or what kindo f oddball happenings would it require...

As far as I know, there's nothing even remotely like that in existence, so you'd be entirely in house-rule territory. That being said, being a native outsider is almost always better than being a regular outsider, so it would make more sense as a magic item (even a weapon) which makes it's wielder act as a native outsider, rather than a weapon that makes the creature you hit native.

Bobson: A weapon that makes the target a Native Outsider would be the ultimate melee weapon for hunting Demons/Devils as it would prevent them from returning to their home plane at "death" to reform. True, it negates some common Banes (Evil Outsider, what?), but it also semi-upgrades Smite at 20th level, where it suddenly gets a downgrade vs. EOs.

SFD: Bobson is right about it being houserule territory. Were I to design something like this, it would be an artifact. That's a crazy ability and trivializes planar creatures for story purposes.

Wouldn't turning them into Native Outsiders promptly give them a dual existence? So... bonk now you don't go back to your home plane but can be resurrected?

Only by True Resurrection. Most PC options to become Native Outsiders places the caveat that they are still treated as a creature of their previous type for Raise/Res purposes. True Res is the only spell that allows for Outsiders of any type to be resurrected.

that is pretty much the point, they die they stand before Pharsma.

like Treerazer.

he was a demonlord of no lesser power, but he failed and was banished to the prime and stripped of his outsider status into a native outsider.

he dies, he has to be ressurected by his cultists, no going back to the abyss/hell/whatever for him.

so such a weapon leaves an outsider vulnerable to be stripped of this and can only be brought back via ressurection by another demon or devil more powerful than him and it means servitude to that power.

Yes artifact, but no weapon has to start out as such, either by spell or odd ball occurance, like for instance managing to slice a rift or an interplanar portal on both sides of it damaging the gate/rift/whatever.....

houserule... okay...

An artifact is required for this. As such, spells required for crafting are irrelevant.
