Logging in while exploring the Product Discussion

Greetings, fellow travellers.

It might have been asked already, but by Cayden, last night was a long one (or short, depending on one's perception) and I wouldn't be able to find way into my own pants as it stands.

I usually start roaming the forums without logging in. Only if something strikes me as interesting I log in and add my gibberish to the discussion.
Now. Everything's fine except for the Product Discussion section. If I want to answer a post and log in while in that section, it does not take me to the discussion but shows the product information site - is that intentional?

Can I circumvent that behaviour? If so: how?

PS: I realize the discussion is only 2(?) clicks away, but me being lazy and old and in a hurry... you get it *wink*

Huh, you're right. It actually works the way it's supposed to if the product is no longer live, but if you're signing in on a product discussion thread it's not taking you to the right place. We'll see what we can do.
