i'm at a bit of an impasee. playing a bard in the carrion crown AP. i have a free feet at low levels and one at fifteen. should i take cleave or great fortitude? and if i take great fortitude at low levels, what on earth would i take at higher levels? this is for a melee striker bard using the arcane duelist archetype.

Well, fort saves are very important in CC and will come up quite often, so I would probably get Great Fortitude early on if I could spare the feat. How useful cleave is depends largely on the rest of your build and how exactly you plan to fight, but GF is always nice to have (I speak from bitter experience - my own bard in CC died in his second encounter - he was brought in mid-campaign - by failing a save against a circle of death).
