Animal Companion have no Trained Skills?

Rules Questions

That is pretty much the whole question, playing my first character with an animal companion.
,
I am getting 4 skill ranks, just want to make sure that there aren't specific skills that get that sweet +3.

I am aware of the normal animal companion skill restrictions, I am getting the companion at level 4.

Thanks!

I don't have my books with me, but you should check the SRD:

here.

Basically, class skills for an animal companion(and the only skills that they may normally have ranks in) are:

Acrobatics, Climb, Escape Artist, Fly (for flyers only), Intimidate, Perception, Stealth, Survival and Swim.

Animal companions with an int of 3 or more can add ranks to any skill - but the above are still their class skills.

The druid class has a section detailing which skills are class skills for animal companions. Any class skill get a +3. Going up in level does not change which skills are class skills.

Animal Skills

Animal companions can have ranks in any of the following skills: Acrobatics* (Dex), Climb* (Str), Escape Artist (Dex), Fly* (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Perception* (Wis), Stealth* (Dex), Survival (Wis), and Swim* (Str). All of the skills marked with an (*) are class skills for animal companions. Animal companions with an Intelligence of 3 or higher can put ranks into any skill.

Being the very model of a modern major general is a good use of those four skills.

Ah, I read that section too quickly. I decided early on to have an Int of 3 so I ignored the skill restrictions, didn't notice they were the class skills as well.

Thanks guys!
