Yes it will be a powerful mount I know. I am looking for a hook to keep a new player interested in the game so my wife will have another girl in the group. (and she does not understand the game well enough to really put this mount to use:) I have a few ideas Is there a web page that has this monster?
FYI they are carrying the "EGG" for this creature in game right now. So I will need the infant or Baby stats.

If you are dealing with an Animal companion, you should ignore the stats in the Bestiary and focus on the stats in the animal companion section, so attempt to keep them internally balanced.
If you want a stat block out of the Bestiary, your best bet is the leadership feat and look up the 'Monster Cohort' rules

grab a winged stat block from the existing monsters/mounts and tweak it gently....
might I suggest Roc.
Okay Mainly Rock with a little Horse throw in

That looks pretty good...
Remember it is going to start as a young'un and scale up with the character level, so maybe make it medium sized to start (horn 1d6 and hooves 1d4), and boost it to large at 4th or 7th level to get 'full size' damage output from the attacks.
Most of its combat effectiveness will come from the advancing HD stats and feats it will pick up over time.

If raising it from a baby I would allow the player to allocate skills. She is playing mommy Pegasus or unicorn and teaching it to survive. Stealth and survival would be good choices so the critter has a chance to survive in the wild, and can be useful to the player.
I would use it for flavor at first rather than a mount. The PC should feel maternal somewhat, the little thing depends on her for food and everything at first. But grows surprising fast under her care and soon enough it is big enough to ride and fight for her.
Honestly I this k it would be a great source of role playing.

To Krome: Yes and yes and yes, the one deterrent to letting the player pick out the skills is that she simple is not getting the rules.
I or her husband normal step her throw the rules that seam to just drag on from her point of view. Flavor and my wife keep her playing. Makes it harder on me as GM but At lest she does try.

If I might comment on something other than the problem at hand: I have had similar situations, trying to keep one person interested for the sake of someone else. If she is not interested in playing, rewarding her with unusually awesome boons for sticking around is not going to make her a consistent player.
In my experience, it just gives them unrealistic expectations of what a player character should be, and/or they lose interest in the same things used to lure them in.
More power to you for trying though, and I sincerely hope it goes well.

Thank You I do see and understand your point. My hope is not to give her a hook to make her love pathfinders as a Game. I hope to keep her interested long enough to develop a relation ship and friend ship. The Games of this type are never about the rules but the friends playing.
If She is willing to say around learn the game I can try and make it funner for her.
