I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so please move if necessary.
I'm going about designing an Ifrit Sorcerer character to use in a ROTR campaign and am having trouble thinking of a good background for him (I'm terrible at this lol). I was hoping to see if the good people from the pathfinder community could help me with so ideas for backgrounds and the like.
He're's the basic skeletal structure I have for him.
-He was raised in the town of Sandpoint (I wanted him here as I see sandpoint as the most popular starting point for aspiring adventurers).
-His one true love and passion is that of adventure. He lives a live of adventure, questing, travel, exploration etc.
-He is CG in nature
-He is a sorcerer first and foremost but he will get some levels of fighter as he improves.
-As with all ifrit he is a strong adorer of fire in all its forms. Most of his spells are fire based.
-He has a cheerful and lively personality
-His melee weapon of choice is the spear
That seems like a fairly good background already. I mean, what exactly do you mean by background? Do you mean his parentage? His childhood? What his ambitions and drives are?
More his childhood and ideas on what drove him to fall in love and devote his life to exploration and adventure in the first place. Also I'm currently opting for his father to be a travelling Efreet of whom desired a one night stand leaving the woman to raise the boy by herself.
Here's a bit more detail.
Occupation: Self-hired Adventurer
1) He is an adventuring Ifrit Battle Caster of Chaotic Good alignment. He was born on the 12th of Erastus 4681.
2)Adventuring is and always has been his true love and passion even as a small child. He’ll happily partake in near any adventure or quest whether it’s confronting a dragon whilst in search of a lost relic or simply aiding a merchant caravan as it travels through a goblin infested plain.
3) As with all Ifrit he is a strong adorer of fire in all its forms. Most of his spells are fire based.
4) He was raised within the infamous town of Sandpoint, located within the western sector of Varisia. Though he has since left its soil in search of new sights to explore and adventures to undertake he will always regard Sandpoint as something special for it was the town in where he was raised and grew up in.
5) Though he holds a cheerful and lively personality don’t get on the wrong side of him for when tested his fiery anger can be terrible to behold.
6) He is well known through out the town of Sandpoint. He’s is talked about mostly in good light but sometimes in bad light by the more lawful citizens.
7) Whilst in Sandpoint his favorite hangout spot is the Rusty Dragon. He is a well respected personal there.
