I normally don't bring the audio side of media to the table when I GM, but the sound of a whip in a simple package (like on your phone) really worked well for the game.
It doesn't take up a lot of room..there's a bit of a comic relief...it brings a bit of "realism" to the player's environment AND you have your phone on you anyway.
Give it a try.

Fantastic idea! I found a similar ap, and I actually have to wave my phone in the air like a whip. It's gonna be great, come game day! :P
for android there's an app called instants buttons that have a truckload of sounds and here is the web version, have fun
